The Harrisville Volunteer Fire Department will host its 41st annual Nighttime Christmas Parade Saturday, November 25, 2023 at 6 p.m. along Main Street, Harrisville, WV.
The theme this year is “The Wonders of Christmas Morning.” Lineup starts at 5 p.m. in the Oakwood Addition, around North Penn Avenue.
“In the ’90s is when the parade went from a day parade to a night parade,” said parade Chairman Bub Hardbarger. “Bob Chancey, who has worked with the Harrisville Volunteer Fire Department for 60-plus years and just retired in February of this year, will be our parade marshal this year.”
There is an open invitation for anyone that would like to be part of the parade and help kick off the holiday season.
The parade will start promptly at 6 p.m. and travel west onto Main Street, where the parade announcer will be. Then it will continue to North Court Street past Huntington Bank and to West North Street where parade entries will be gathered to return through Main Street.
“After the parade, people are welcome to come to the firehouse where we will have cookies and hot chocolate,” Hardbarger said. “Santa and Mrs. Claus will also be there for families to take pictures with.”
The Harrisville Volunteer Fire Department’s 41st Nighttime Christmas Parade will be live-streamed on the department’s Facebook page.
